Troop 234’s Charter Organization

To conduct a scouting program, each scout troop is chartered by the Boy Scouts of America.  For over 30 years, Saint Monica’s Catholic Church Men’s Club has received an annual national charter from the Boy Scouts of America to conduct this scouting program, both as part of its parish youth work and for the benefit of all in our local community.

Saint Monica’s is very proud of Troop 234, its adult leadership, the troop’s commitment to a boy-led policy, and all of the fine young scouts of Troop 234 past and present.  See the Troop Policies document to learn more about the role of the Chartering Organization sponsoring Troop 234.

St Monica's

The St. Monica Men’s Club is an organization dedicated to fellowship and charitable activities. Just as Troop 234 is non-denominational and welcoming to all youth in the neighborhood, the Men’s Club, (while consisting of men from the Lamorinda area-most of who are members of St. Monica Parish) likewise truly welcomes all men of the community to simply attend our regular dinner meetings, or join the club.

The Club holds regular dinner meetings featuring a social hour, then dinner prepared by volunteer members, big screen NFL football (in season), a brief business meeting, and a guest speaker. Club members also participate in giving activities such as holiday outreach projects, fund raising, blood drives, and the Muffin People, a service to the hungry in Oakland. Proceeds from dinners, raffles, and dues are the Club’s principal source for annual charitable contributions to regional organizations in need.

Membership is open to all men of the community. Regular dinner meetings are held in the Saint Monica parish Peace Room, typically on the first Monday of every month except July and August.  Social hour begins at 6:00PM with dinner served at 7:00PM. Dinners are generally only $10, and annual dues are only $30 .

If you have any questions about the Men’s Club, come to any dinner meeting, or contact the Troop 234 Chartered Organization Representative, Russell Stepp, at 415-254-2805.

The Club warmly welcomes the men of Troop 234 to join or just attend a dinner meeting. Membership is what keeps the Men’s Club viable, and new members are warmly welcomed. Come and support your Chartered Organization and have fun doing it.
